Shri D. V. Sadananda Gowda, Hon’ble Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers laid the foundation stone for HPG 2^nd Stage Plant at BCPL Lepetkata  in the august presence of Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Shri Rameswar Teli, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, Shri. Topon Kr. Gogoi, Hon’ble Members of Legislative Assembly, Assam, Shri Terosh Gowala, Shri Bimal Borah, Shri Chakradhar Gogoi,  Shri Sanjoy Kishan & Shri Jogen Mohan besides a host of other dignitaries including Shri Kashi Nath Jha, Joint Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India.

The proposal for setting up a Butene-1 and 2nd Stage Hydrogenation of Pyrolysis Gasoline (HPG) plant at Lepetkata at a cost of Rs. 386 Cr, has been approved by Government of India. In the first phase, BCPL shall set- up a HPG 2nd Stage plant at a cost of Rs. 125.99 crore. This project having capacity of 52,000 TPA will produce a value added product which can be blended with motor spirit.
